We’ve recently become an official supporter of the Meat Free Monday Campaign and we’re so proud to champion such a great mission that aligns with our own so well.
If you don’t already know, Meat Free Monday is a not-for-profit campaign, founded by Paul McCartney (yes the musical genius), along with his daughters Mary McCartney, and Stella McCartney. Their main goal is to raise awareness about the damaging impact animal agriculture and industrial fishing has on the environment.
The campaign promotes eating plant-based every Monday (or any day of the week) to reduce your carbon footprint and help the planet. But, they also highlight how consuming less meat and dairy products has benefits for your own health and can even help towards alleviating world hunger. Founded in 2009, the MFM campaign was one of the first initiatives to call attention to the devastating effects that animal agriculture has on our beautiful earth, as well as the needless suffering it causes to billions of animals each year.
What we love about MFM is that it’s so easy to adopt into our lives. It’s completely inclusive and accessible to those who are willing to give it a go. Plus, they have a ton of exciting plant-based recipes on their social media, as well as their website, making your Meat Free Mondays so much easier to do!
Talking about recipes, here at Gaia’s, we might be posting something delicious soon - in collaboration with MFM of course. Keep an eye out on our Instagram, especially if you like chocolate, and cake, and in particular our hemp & almond butter…
