hemp who?

What is it and why should we care?

Hemp is a variety of the Cannabis Sativa plant. Nope, not the variety you can smoke (see our FAQ for science chat). It would be like smoking blades of grass. Pointless right? Myth busted.
Okay… let’s continue.

Hemp is specifically grown for its sustainable commercial uses. In other words, every single part of the plant can be used to benefit us and Mother Earth. Zero Wastage. Apparently it has thousands of uses but we don’t have the time to type them all out (we’re too busy making delicious m*lk obv), but see our cute diagram below.

In other words it’s a super-plant that Mother Earth would want us to use!

environment

Hemp can grow almost anywhere.

no pesticides

Hemp is a naturally strong plant which means cleaner air, land and water.

Hemp captures 4x more Carbon dioxide than trees

NO WASTAGE

Every part of the plant can be used and utilised. From the stalk to the seeds, the leaves and the flowers.

HIGHLY SUSTAINABLE CROP

It has a short growing cycle of 12 to 14 weeks which makes it a highly sustainable crop.

CARBON SEQUESTRATION

Even when processed studies have shown hemp still performs carbon sequestration aka hemp stores carbon dioxide and other forms of carbon - this can mitigate global warming & avoid dangerous climate change.

PHYTOREMEDIATIOn

Through its deep, strong roots, hemp replenishes the soil with far more nutrients than it uses. It can also remove radioactive chemicals and toxins from the soil. It’s like a recycling plant in itself.

Health
