FAQ's
Hemp
1.
What does hemp taste like?
+
It all depends on how you are consuming it. Generally, hemp tastes a little earthy, more on the nutty side. However this can vary depending on the product and what you mix it with.
2.
What is Hemp, CBD and Marijuana? Are they the same?
+
This question is asked a lot with many misconceptions. Whilst this question can be quite scientific we have tried to explain it:
Hemp is a variety of Cannabis Sativa with less than 0.2% Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) and used for its many material and functional benefits (food, textiles, polymers etc) aka super plant for humans and Earth. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a phytocannabinoid found in the flowers and leaves of Cannabis Sativa, primarily the hemp variety. It is used both in topical treatments and ingested as an oil with many positive effects (it does not get you high). Marijuana (commonly known as cannabis) is a variety of the Cannabis Sativa plant (not hemp) which is used primarily for medical and recreational purposes; the dominant Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) has psychoactive effects which have led to it being legalised in many countries for its medicinal properties. 3.
Can I get high from hemp?
+
Nope. Not in the slightest. Although they both derive from a species of Cannabis Sativa and both contain many similar chemical compounds, hemp has less than 0.2% Tetrahydrocannabinol (THC). It would be like trying to smoke grass or straw. Pretty pointless right.
4.
Do you grow your Hemp in the UK?
+
Our hemp seeds come from all across the world, where the harvests can accommodate our demand. Our seeds are primarily from the UK, France and Canada. We are a UK based company and we will continue to work with UK hemp growers to create an ecosystem that supports the industry at home.
5.
Why was Hemp banned in so many countries?
+
Due to hemp's ability to disrupt so many industries (cough cough, plastic and paper cough cough) it was banned in many countries for a lot of the 20th century.
Fortunately in the last couple decades legislation has rightfully changed to allow farmers and ‘industry’ to utilise the plant for its superpowers. However, we still have a long way to go. With many barriers making it difficult for hemp farmers to grow in the UK. All based on a lack of understanding and knowledge. We plan to be at the forefront of change. Mother Earth would want us to be.
